 I should introduce myself, I am Jo Ann S. Belden Johnson. I was born in 1951 to the parents of Lemott Willis Belden and Bertha Ella Lunger Belden in PA.

My Belden line that I know is:      I

Brainard Belden born about 1802 , guessing he was born in Ashfield,MA. Died January 1852 in Portland,ChautauquaCo.,NY.

He married Elnor Thayer born October 29,1806 in Portland,ChautauquaCo.,NY, in 1821. Elnor died November 3,1843 in Portland,ChautauquaCo.,NY. They are both buried in Portland,NY.

Children for Brainard and Elnor are:

(1) Hannah Belden born about 1822; she was in the Army and died young

( 2 ) Lyman born about 1823; he died young

( 3 ) Elbert ( Albert ) born 1827, no other information at this time.

( 4 ) Selden James born October 1,1829

( 5 ) Thayer born 1833 in Conn. No other information

( 6 ) Robert Orine born 1838

( 7 ) Elbridge ( aka Ellery E. ) born in 1839

Married Septmber 3,1855 in Sugar Creek,WarrenCo.,PA. toAda Mariah McClay born Septmber 3,1838 in North Adams,MA. She died May 15,1927 in Corry Erie Co.,PA.; Selden died January 27,1892 in West Spring Creek,Warren Co.,PA.

** According to Dale Adams they have a daughter Nellie born May 18,1863; Dale stated that this information was from the " Corry,Erie Co., PA. Historical Society".
